In this thesis, it is investigated if it is possible to create a common factor of the work tasks done by an Air traffic controller, which then can measure workload. This will lead to the development of a tool to measure workload at small airports. In the research project a questionnaire is created to measure the different tasks an Air traffic controller has. The same questionnaire will also measure the number of environmental factors that exists around the Air traffic controller. To measure the validity of the questionnaire, the authors are using NASA-TLX.

This paper was part of the ongoing cooperation between the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority and the Department of Psychology at Lund University. The purpose of this study was to develop a self-report measure regarding human factors, for the Air traffic controllers to fill out before they start their working shift. This in order to aid the team leaders in their judgment regarding the Air traffic controller's ability to perform at the right safety level. The self-report measure would also serve as an aid for the Air traffic controllers who have a responsibility regarding their own performance. If successful this self-report measure would make it easier for the Air traffic controllers to be alert regarding certain factors that can have a large impact on their performance.

Detta för att öka förståelsen för rollerna som controller och CFO. För att genomföra studien användes en kvalitativ metod som omfattade öppna individuella intervjuer med controller och CFO på Halmstads kommun, Heléns Rör AB och CFO/ controller på Krönleins bryggeri AB. Den teoretiska referensramen delades in i följande teman: Ekonomistyrning, controllerns och CFO:ns arbetsuppgifter, rollen som controller, CFO och CFO/ controller, ledningsgruppen och faktorer som påverkar och samarbete.

Background: The project controller is a function witch evolved due to the strong gaining ground of project operation. Why the area of the project controller is interesting to study is explained by the fact that increasing knowledge of this function is important in order to make project operation work well. The fact that opinions in this field disagree, further increases the interest of the field. In order to study the function of the project controller three companies have been singled out. They are IFS, Intentia and Saab Bofors Dynamics.

When traffic in large cities increases, it becomes more vulnerable to disturbances such as accidents, stalled vehicles or construction; therefore, traffic jams are more likely to occur. For better control of the traffic at a disturbance the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA) has traffic equipment which can be controlled from a command centre. This traffic equipment consists of gates and signs with variable messages. This report will discuss the system used for traffic control in Stockholm. It will present proposals designed to improve it.

The purpose with this masters thesis was to model the scanner in a system for laser bathymetry. The model was then used to develop a controller for the scanner so a good search pattern was achieved. Two different types of models have been tested, a physical model and a Black Box model of Box Jenkins type. The physical model has been derived from Lagranges equations. Identification experiments have been used to compute the Black Box model and to find the unknown parameters in the physical model.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att få en bild över hur en controller arbetar i ett medelstort företag. Studien har genomförts med en fallstudie av två företag över en tre veckors period. Studien visar att controllers i medelstora företag har många olika arbetsuppgifter. Controllern tenderar att arbeta med redovisning och den framtida styrningen av företaget har en lägre prioritet. Hursomhelst har vi funnit att en controller i ett medelstort företag har fler arbetsuppgifter än vad litteraturen beskriver att en controller har.

This thesis is an evaluation of the new traffic solution at ?Skvallertorget?. The innovative theory behind it is to increase traffic-safety by introducing insecurity feelings for road-users. The conclusion of the evaluation is that the newtraffic solution is well adjusted according to guidelines for municipal traffic planning. The evaluation also illustrates the conflict between traffic planners deliberate attempt to avoid clear information and the road users wish to get it.

Bakgrund:Teknologins utveckling samt den ökade globaliseringen har gjort dagens controller till ett komplext yrke som berör många aspekter. Vi vill behandla ämnet utifrån personer som ska anställa en controller eftersom de är involverade i controller-rollen. Vi undrar hur dessa personer egentligen kan veta vad de söker hos en controller när det råder en så stor osäkerhet kring begreppet.Syfte:Syftet med vår uppsats är att undersöka vilka förväntningar som arbetsgivare har på en controller samt analysera dessa med stöd av tidigare forskning och litteratur. Uppsatsen fokuserar på dels vad controllern skall arbeta med och hur arbetsuppgifterna utvecklas och dels på personlighetsdrag och färdigheter. Vi vill få en ökad förståelse på hur arbetsgivare via sina förväntningar tolkar begreppet controller.Metod:En kvalitativ forskningsmetod med abduktiv ansats.

In order for companies to be competitive they perform different types of development projects.  Due to globalization a greater focus is added on costs, not least on costs in development projects. Project controllers are involved in development projects in order to review the financial aspects. The authors have examined the role that project controllers hold in respect of two Swedish manufacturers, Volvo CE and Scania CV. The investigation has revolved around three main issues where the authors conducted interviews with controllers that do not work in development projects and project controllers in development projects. The goal of the interviews was to gain a greater understanding of the role of project controllers, how this role will differ from those that do not work in development projects and the difficulties faced by project controllers.

Robotic milking in Automatic Milking systems (AMS) is proposed to reduce manual labour and at the same time increase milk yield by increasing milking frequency. In order to increase milking frequency, it is essential to have well-functioning cow traffic. Investing in an AMS is a great capital investment for the farmer, thus it is of major importance to ensure maximal AMS capacity. This study investigated the effect of the traffic systems Feed First? and Free cow traffic with and without waiting area (WA) on cow performance and AMS capacity.

The ferry traffic to Gotland is essential for the island?s ability to live and develop. Yearly, it transports 1,6 million passengers, 500 000 personal vehicles and 750 000 lane meters of freight with four Ro-Pax ferries. The traffic is controlled and subsidized by the Swedish government since 1971 in order to guarantee the inhabitants and industry of Gotland a satisfactory transportation service. As a consequence of the past decades increased traffic quality, mainly due to a decrease in crossing times, the traffic?s environmental impact and costs has also increased.The Master Thesis proposes a new energy efficient traffic arrangement that satisfies the users? preferences in the same extent as today.

This thesis consists of four case studies. The objective is to find out how to get a well functioning cow traffic in an automatic milking system. Different technical and building solutions are analysed and some adjustments are proposed for the DeLaval herd management software. Case study 1: Lactation chart comparison from traditional cow traffic and Feed First? cow traffic Case study 2: Farm A - a study of the precedence passage and the cow traffic Case study 3: Farm B ? an overview of the farm and their way of working Case study 4: Key factors ? how can we judge how well a VMS farm is working? Lactation graphs are compared between traditional cow traffic and Feed First? cow traffic.

A new code for corporate governance was introduced for major companies in Sweden in July 2005. This act is to some degree a follower to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act that was introduced in the U.S.A. after the Enron scandal. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the effect on the controller in response to the introduction of this new act. Three controllers in major Swedish companies was interviewed and asked if and how they had been affected by this new act.
